Anchisaurus is a genus of basal sauropodomorph, and was an early herbivorous dinosaur. It lived during the Early Jurassic Period 200 to 188 million years ago. Until recently it was classed as a member of Prosauropoda. Anchisaurus was a rather small dinosaur, with a length of just over 2 metres (6.6 ft) and probably around 27 kilograms (60 lb). It was hunted by Megapnosaurus and Dilophosaurus.
In When Dinosaurs Roamed America
In the early Jurassic segment, an male Anchisaurus feeds on the trees. But then, a pack of Megapnosaurus is seen hunting the Anchisaurus. One of the predators gets hurt and maybe killed in the process. The pack chases the herd of Anchisaurus and corners the male. But just as they prepare for the kill, a Dilophosaurus is seen stopping the hunt. She roars at the Anchisaurus. She grabs the basal sauropod's neck with her teeth and slashs him with her hand claws. Then, she forces the Anchisaurus down and kills him. Later, a pair of Anchisaurus see their leader being eaten by another Dilophosaurus. The narrator says they will evolve into the mighty sauropods like Camarasaurus and Apatosaurus.
Errors
- Anchisaurus is shown to be larger than Megapnosaurus but in real life it was the quite the opposite.
